4 things we’ve learned from Beyoncé

On Saturday Beyoncé had everyone on the internet watching her newly-released surprise video “Formation”. On Sunday, she had the world in the palm of her hand when she played at the infamous Super Bowl. Yes, Queen Bey is back with a bang and we’re loving it already. Which got us thinking about four (yes, we narrowed it way down) lessons we can learn from the woman herself…

    1. Work hard, in silence.  This is the second time Beyoncé has surprised her fans with new material. Remember in 2013 when she gave us all a self-entitled visual album? Fast forward to 2016 and she’s done it again with a surprise video! You can tell she works hard and, more importantly, she does it in silence, letting her artistry do the talking.

The lesson? You don’t need to broadcast every single business move you’re about to make. Sometimes the best thing to do is work at your craft in silence and let the results do the talking.

    2. Celebrate yourself and where you come from. Beyoncé is a country girl and proud. She makes several references to her Texan upbringing and her southern roots; “Earned all this money, but they never take the country out of me”. No matter your level of success, it’s important to never despise your humble beginnings and celebrate the things that have shaped who you are today.

    3. Stand for something. You know how it goes, stand for something or you’ll fall for nothing and Beyoncé lets the world know that she is all for the Black Lives Matter movement, taking a stand on an issue that’s affecting young black people across the United States. In fact her ‘Formation’ video references the cause, in particular a wall tagged ‘Stop Shooting Us’. A successful woman using her position to deliver a politically-charged message in the hope of delivering social change and justice is definitely something we can get behind.

    4. Always stay gracious. Whilst we’re sure Beyoncé has received a lot of criticism over the years, she continues to remind us to always stay gracious no matter what. Ladies, let your success do the talking!
