Five books you need to read this summer

Some of you may be packing right now for your summer get-away trip! (Lucky you) However, even for those of us who are staying at home this summer, it is always a good opportunity to take some time out to read, especially with this lovely weather. Here are our top five summer reads to get your Girl Boss Mojo in check whether you are on the beach or the tube!

What I know for sure: Oprah Winfrey

This book is filled with past diary entries and personal stories from Mama O where she shares her life lessons and wisdom. This book was the catalyst that made our Founder leave her job to work on GTL full time!

Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance: Angela Duckworth

For anyone who is going through a difficult time especially the entrepreneurs this book provides findings from decades of research about what sets successful people apart from the rest and that is Grit which is a combination of Passion and Perseverance. This is perfect if you are feeling like you are ready to quit. Do us a favour, don’t until you read this book at least!

The Secret: Rhonda Byrne

This is a classic which we are sure most of our readers have read before, but we feel that you need to re-read this book again! In hard times, we need a reminder to keep the positive energy and vibes at an all time high

Black Privilege: Charlamagne The God

Now, try and ignore the controversial title! This book is not just for black people. This book is for anyone who has been fired multiple times, been written off and may feel like their dreams are too late to achieve. Charlamagne is a successful American DJ and TV presenter who has had an incredible journey to get to his influential place in popular culture. In his autobiographical book, he shares with us his journey and the lessons he has learned along the way.

The Power of Now: Eckhart Tolle

This book is perfect, if you are feeling like ‘When am I going to get my big break?!’ instead Tolle teaches us that the most important thing to do in life is to focus on the present moment!
