Girls Talk London Meets Rachel Kerr
Girls Talk London Founder Vanessa Sanyauke sits down with UK Gospel singing sensation Rachel Kerr to discuss family, childhood, singing for Bill Clinton, Winning a MOBO award, The Grammy awards, headlining BET Music Matters in New York and how she gave up a life in the corporate sector to pursue a career in singing.
Rachel has always impressed me from the day I first met her in April 2013. She came and joined the panel and performed for our second Girls Talk London event at The Museum of London. She has this warm spirit that just captivates you from the moment she smiles and says ‘hello’. Sitting down with Rachel a year after we first met in March 2014-she is still the same sweet girl. I was able to really get a sense of who she truly is and how far she has come in such a short space of time.
The thing that I love most about Rachel is her intelligence and her investment in her education. Rachel is incredibly grounded and family oriented and you can see that much of her humility is because of the strong support she has behind her.
This interview helps us understand the person behind the music, the sacrifices she had to make and how she has been able to have global success in the early stages of her singing career.
I hope this interview inspires you to take a leap of faith, especially when you are faced with two doors, to follow your heart and let your faith guide you-Rachel is living proof of this.
I hope you enjoy and please let me know what you thought of this interview.
