Girls Talk London is looking for an Operations & Events Intern to be a part of our team!
Minimum 6 months commitment
We are looking for an ambitious, driven and passionate intern to support our Founder with the growth of the organisation & to help coordinate our events & master classes for young girls hosted in top FTSE 100 companies. We are looking for someone who is motivated and able to use their own initiative especially when working alone as you will mostly work remotely and occasionally from Covent Garden. Working hours are flexible and usually in the evening or weekends but you need to pick up emails during the day when needed and respond accordingly. You must have lots of energy (infectious!) and be passionate about helping create events and projects that change the scope for thousands of young girls across the UK online and at live events.
We need someone to be committed to our organisation for the long term and a reciprocated investment will be made towards this chosen individual.
You must have/be the following:
• Exceptional organisational skills and experience of working with clients or customers
• Be able to communicate via email, telephone and in person professionally with Senior women and high profile officials and corporates
• Have a can do attitude and the ability to work on multiple tasks with enthusiasm
• Be available via email and respond within reasonable time to requests
• Attention to detail
• Action and respond to given tasks promptly and efficiently
• Interpersonal skills
• Use initiative and creativity to think outside the box
• Ability to prioritise and manage responsibilities
• Have a desire to gain experience in the not for profit sector, events or diversity programmes
• Be friendly and approachable as you will be an advocate for our brand
• Be a team player and see the bigger pictureThe responsibilities for this individual include but are not limited to the following:
• Working closely with our schools to manage the group booking process and marketing our events to them to book
• Liaising with speakers and corporates on the logistics of the event
• Liaising and approaching brands to sponsor or host our events
• Creating and distributing our briefing packs to all attendees and speakers
• Managing our event and waiting list and confirming attendance of all attendees
• Using social media such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to promote our events and work
• You will also be the key contact and will liaise directly with our speakers ensuring that they have received briefing packs and any requirements are met
• Update our website with blog posts when needed
• Provide suggestions for new ideas that can help girls in the UK have the best life and career
• Work closely with our venue/corporate hosts ensuring that the event set-up is confirmed, audio/visual requirements, refreshments are arranged and security processes are followed
• Attend every event which take place in the evenings helping set up, greet guests, look after speakers and stay behind shortly after the event to debrief.We love to train and develop our interns and if you are successful in gaining an internship with Girls Talk London we will make sure we provide you with the following:

• Access if you wish to be mentored and coached by our Founder who has over 8 years’ experience in mentoring and youth leadership helping secure many young people with internships, work experience and full time jobs in the financial services in particular and many other industries.
• CV and Interview coaching: We will ensure that you receive consultation and advice on how to modify your CV so that it is attractive to prospective employers in the future and a 1-2-1 Interview coaching session
• Continuous training and development with opportunities that may be suitable for you as they arrive.We need someone to join our team in November 2014
Interviews will be taking place end of October in Covent Garden either in the evening or Saturday.
